Getting there
Gamboa sits by the Canal, at the edge of Soberanía National Park. It’s an easy day trip from the city.
- Drive ~30–45 min via Corredor Norte/Centennial Bridge (traffic dependent).
- Ride-hailing or private driver: agree return pickup; signal can be spotty.
- Public: Metro to Albrook → bus toward Summit → taxi to Gamboa (no direct city bus to Pipeline).

Trails & birding
Pipeline Road runs through mature and secondary forest; dawn is peak activity. Expect antbirds, trogons, motmots, toucans and more.
Record counts: Audubon’s Christmas Bird Count along Pipeline Road has registered 300+ species in 24 hours; it’s one of the Americas’ classic hotspots.
